Whimsical Embroidery Cards

I decided to make cards for my emboridery thread remnants. At first I just went onto PS and made the cards using some clipart that I had around. Then, I decided to sketch some up of my own. I printed the designs onto an old manila file folder, cut them out and they were ready to go.

You are welcome to download the cards for yourself. Choose either the ornate set or the whimsical set or both!

Here’s how I went about prepping the cards. I like having a bunch ready to go in my embroidery thread basket so that I can grab one when I need it.

First, trim each frame. I used a paper cutter, scissors and corner rounding punch.

Then, cut notches on the side of cards where you wrap the thread around. I punched half-circles on the sides of some of mine.

Then just wrap your thread around like so. Cut a slit on the side to slide your thread end into and punch a hole in the top if you are going to place them on a binder ring.

Store on binder rings or in compartmented containers. I just throw mine in a basket.
