This is the 4th redo of these shadowboxes. I keep going back and forth as to whether I like them. I painted the wall behind the shadow boxes to look like sky. I built the shadowboxes by hand and stained them dark brown. I took branches from the trees near my house and let them dry for several days. I then spray painted them dark brown and dusted them with gold. My walls are taupe, so I’m not sure if there is enough/too much contrast. I guess I’ve been staring at them too long and don’t have the ability to look with a fresh eye. Comments (including constructive critcisim) are welcomed and appreciated.

I think white would have been more pleasing to the eye. The blue detracts from the beautiful spareness of the design.
My original plan was to use plain white, but felt that I needed more color because my living room is almost all neutral aside from a little blue. But I think you’re right, plain white would contrast and showcase the branches better. Also, I feel that I need to do something with the alignment. I appreciate your comment.
