**You can create a brush from scratch or use a photograph or graphic that you already have. For this example, I am creating one from scratch to use as an earring for my Punk portraits entry.

1. Open a new file in photoshop. File>New

2. Using your circular selection tool create a circle and fill it with black by selecting Edit>Fill. In dialogue box, set use to black and make sure opacity is 100%.

Fill selection

3. Now using your selection tool again draw a smaller circle inside the black circle and press delete.

Delete center

4. Define a brush. Select Edit> Define brush set. Name your brush and select OK. Your image should now be available as a brush. **If you cannot access the “Define brush set” option, make sure that your image is no larger than 8″ in width or heighth and 300 dpi. Continue decreasing the size of your image until the option is available.
