If you’ve ever had a sweater that has shrunken dramatically, it probably was made of wool and it probably felted. I decided to see what I could make from this shrunken sweater I’ve had for several years. I was able to make a “grocery” style bag, an ipod sock and several wristbands.
To make the bag:
Cut the sweater like this and sew along the bottom to make a grocery-style bag. For embellishment I just stitched around it using yarn and a yarn needle. It’s kinda stretchy, so I use mine to carry lightweight items. It’s carrying my current crochet project at the moment.
To make the ipod sock:
I cut the ipod sock out of one sleeve. I left some room at the top to make the flap. I just sewed along the bottom and one side and added the button.
The wristbands were just cut from the sleeve and sewed to fit around my wrist tightly.

That is awesome! I tried doing a pillow once out of a sweater that didn’t fit and I ended up ripping out all the yarn for my stash. I have another sweater though (that I accidently shrunk) I’ll have to try it with that. Thanx for the tutorial!
